Here are the meeting notes for the February meeting for those who couldn't make it. Feel free to post any questions you might have.
New Members: 15 dollar membership fee for this semester. This would make you a full member eligible to earn points and take advantage of sponsorship offers.
Points: Points carry over from last semester. The top 5 will be able to compete in the Qualifier Tournament, which will take place anywhere from May 17-31 for four days. Anyone looking to compete will need to find a boat and would be required to run the trolling motor. Everyone has the opportunity to gain points and get into the top 5 until April. Lake for qualifier to be determined, possibilities include Egypt, Shelbyville.
Tournaments:
2nd annual Illinois Bass Fishing Championship March 21st (1st weekend of break) Lake Springfield Buddy Tournament
Arkansas Tech University Invitational Marshall and Nick are going March 25th and 26th Buddy Tournament
March 5th or 6th there is an ATU Tournament that Marshall and Matt are signed up for but may not be able to go. There are only two available spots for that one.
Our tournament: Fundraiser for club Saturday May 8th weekend before finals.
CU Bass Club: Have tournaments that we can fish, no boats needed only transportation. Good for building relationships for future tournaments. $30 membership fee for club.
Tournaments are usually Saturday and Sundays, local lakes.
Sponsorships:
Columbia: Top 10 received their gear, and there is another contract being finalized for next years top 10. Paid members get anywhere from 40%-60% off all orders.
There are talks for a few new sponsors, if anyone has any ideas for possible sponsors, feel free to pursue them and post on the board about it, there is no one set person in charge of sponsorships. Try to work fast though, because we are in talks with Gemini to get Jerseys made and we need to put the sponsors on the shirts. Jerseys will be about $70-$80.
