I have been in contact with one of the coaches of the Heritage High School Fishing Team in the past month or so and we have finally planned an event to get our two clubs together.
Their team is going to be out at Homer Lake for a practice this Sunday, October 7th. They are going to be out with some boats but also fishing from shore from about 10am to 3pm. At 3pm they will be having a small BBQ at the lake and have invited our members to join and talk and eat with the kids.
They are a new team to high school fishing so most of the kids have not yet experienced tournament or high school fishing. This would be a great opportunity for us to speak with the kids about our own experiences with high school fishing, college fishing and just fishing in general.
The event is pretty open ended. At the very least, I would like everyone that isn't busy between 3pm and 5pm to be there. Those of you that aren't busy at all on Sunday are more than welcome to head over earlier and fish with the team and help them practice. They event is pretty informal but I think it is important that we have a good showing and help out as best as we can. They have already committed to fishing our open tournament this spring, so I think it would be great for our team to show them some support.
As of now, I will probably head over slightly before 3pm, but that may change. I can give rides to those interested. Please post up if you are going to attend.

Come on guys, Brock and I should not be the only ones going to these events... At the very least you're going to get to spend some time on the water and a free dinner, not to mention interacting with high school anglers who are extremely excited to meet with us.

Thanks to Cody, Nick and Brock for coming out today! I think the kids enjoyed talking to us and they will definitely be looking to forward to talking with us in the future.
