Hey guys,
I contacted the Champaign Special Recreation group to try and schedule another fishing clinic with them. The dates they prefer are Friday April 12th or Friday May 3rd form 4-6 or 4:30-6:30.
Im thinking April 12th. It is the friday of Mom's Weekend but I doubt anybodys moms would be here that early. if we do it 4-6 we could get out of there pretty quick. Plus we dont have any tournaments that weekend. May 3rd is the first day of finals. We did this last year but many could not make it. Plus the Pickwick FLW is that weekend.
Please post your opinions or I will just schedule it myself. THanks!

I say the later, the better, just fishing wise. But if there are guys leaving for tournaments then that may cause issues.

I would like to do both days if possible. If they could get out both days with different people or people that cannot make one of the days, I have to check my finals first though. It was a really easy event to run and honestly was a fun experience.

I prefer the later, but I also do not have any finals so I am biased lol

We should have as close to 100% participation for this event as possible. It is only for a few hours and walking distance from campus. If you only attend one event all year make it this one.

Bring old rods and reels back to campus when you go home for spring break! We want to make sure that we have enough for all participants!

I am pretty sure I have some hooks laying around. Be sure to bring some pliers because the fish tend to swallow the small hooks.

We have a bunch of bobbers, hooks, etc. from last year that Brock and I purchased. I want to say Cody has it with all the other club stuff, but Brock may have it too.
Just an update, I am going to try my best to be there but I may be late.

We should start a running list of who is going and who is not.

I already bought plenty of bobbers and split shops. Im going to get some small panfish hooks when we get some bait so we should be set.

Hannah Sheets from the Champaign Urbana Special Recreation just now emailed me back about this weekend. She has 6 participants signed up and ready to go with the possibility of a couple more. The event will be this Friday 4:30-6:30 at Crystal Lake (just behind Carle Hospital). I unfortunately will not be able to make it because of the Pickwick FLW.
I would like to know a final head count of who is planning on going. It would be nice to have as many people there as possible and this would be a great way for newer members to get involved. It is an easy and fun community service project that we are very proud of. Right now as of the last exec meeting I have Andrew Childerson Tom Plate Jake Jagust and Conrad Michael Keefe going? I have 9 combos that are rigged up and ready to go with all the extra tackle as well. I will get bait and hand everything off to someone.
Please post if you are available to go please post here (and if you can drive) so we can wrap everything up. Thanks.

I will be there. Let me know if I need to bring some spinning combos. Matt/ Brock have all of the combos we need. Feel free to go early and fish but be back by the dock before everyone gets there.
