Well it was a bit chilly out today....However that didn't stop me and Rob from going to LOTW! All I know is I couldn't feel my fingers after a while but that didn't stop me from catching a few fish. We fished pretty much the whole lake and had some fairly good action. Rob started it off quick with 2 dinks off the dam on a Crawfish colored crank. As we moved around the lake I pitched a jig and Rob threw the crank. It was a good 1, 2 punch combo. Rob "lose bass" Russow only had one bite on a jig the whole day and broke em off! Oh well, he managed to go 7/7 on the crankbait which is amazing to me. I managed 5/6 on a jig. Had one fish pick up my jig and bolt off under the boat with it and I never got a solid hookset into it. We set our "keeper size" at 12 inches today and managed to get our "limit of 5" at 8.2lbs. Big bass of the day were 2.4 and 2.9lbs on a jig caught by yours truely. A good time, now I'm thawing out in my room. All fish were relased and swam away strong. Pictures for your viewing pleasure! 2.4lbs on a Black and Blue custom jig 2.9lbs on a PB & J custom jig. This fish hit when i was swimming my jig over some brush just under the surface of the water! Illini Bass Fishin! We dominate.....http://www.collegiatebass.org/
