Hey guys we had our February General Meeting tonight, we went over more sponsorship and tournament information.
Sponsors:
Lake Fork: We just sent in the rosters of eligible club members so soon we will be able to start ordering through them. To place an order you need to call the 800 number and say you are with the Fighting Illini Bass Club and we can only make individual orders. Remember that we get 40% off all plastics and 20% off anything else. They are also going to sell us the clip on hat lights at cost that we can use to fund-raise and are also very interested in getting some club members on TV shows so more information on that will come.
Dobyns: Everything is set up, if you want to make a club order contact Matt Sells or Cody Sullivan or post on the board and they will put the order in for you. Remember we get 40% off their rods and 50% off their apparel.
Advantage Bait Company: This is a new sponsor that we picked up at the Outdoors show in Rosemont. They are a start up company based out of Elk Grove Illinois that make high quality spinnerbaits, if you haven't been to any recent executive meetings we've been passing them around if you want to see what they look like come to the next executive meeting or contact me. We get to buy the baits for 33% off for $10 and if you want to make an order through them visit their website (advantagebait.com) pick out what you want and contact me or post on the board and I will put the order in for you.
Lees Global Tackle: We are still working with Lees Global Tackle out of Elk Grove on setting up a discount on their import baits. They will have some seminars coming up that we will let you guys know about to fish these baits if your interested.
Columbia: We finally got through to Columbia, we will have our 2011 contract shortly. All eligible members should be approved for Pro-Purchase and those who fished the Big 10 should be getting their gear shortly.
Ranger: We are waiting to get the estimate back on the repairs for the Ranger, they said it was more than they expected but they are still going to help us with it.
We are also working with Oak Lawn High School who we also met at the show on a partnership. Their coach wants us to go out fishing with their team, probably on Spring Break on the Lake Michigan shore. They will also put us in their newsletter, we'll put them in our newsletter and they will help us promote our Tournament.
We are also starting to work with 2 U of I alum on the Dobyns pro staff: Brad Lutz works at the University and is willing to let us look at his Dobyns rods before we buy them as well as help us with promoting our club and our tournament and he is also trying to help us get some Dobyns rods to raffle off and Rusty Rehinol who was a founding member of our club and wants to help us with boats sponsors and our tournament.
Club Publicity:
Nick Abels has been working on a new website for us that will cost us $40 a year to run, so the Executive Board will be voting on that next week.
We are also creating a Facebook page to help get us out there more.
We also are going to get a table at the IHSA tournament on May 6-7 on Lake Caryile and we are looking for volunteers to go down there and promote the club.
Tournaments:
The FLW roster is set for the year so no one else will be able to fish those.
Boat US Tournaments: These are open to anyone who has a boat to fish in it. There is one from May 23-27 in Lake Lewisville Texas if anyone is interested.
The Illinois State Championship is on April 16th or 17th on Lake Jackonsville and we are sending a few boats to that, so if you are interested post on the board or come to the next executive meeting.
Our Fundraising Tournament will be held on May 15th on Shelbyville, this is the Sunday after finals and we will be needing help to run the Tournament so if you can help please post on the board or come to the next executive meeting. If you have a boat and would like to fish it you are also welcome to do that.
Jerseys: We are also working with Rayjus Jerseys on a new Jersey order due to our changing sponsors so if you think you want to compete in any tournaments you will need to buy one of these, we will send out a design when it is completed.
As always any questions please post under here and see you next time!
