We will be having our very first FIBC Boat Day next Saturday, September 17th, out at Clinton Lake. This will be a great event for anyone who is interested in fishing out of a boat at any point in the future.
During the course of the day we will go over accessing our boats, preparing them to be trailered, trailering, preparing to launch, launching, on-the-water rules and safety, running the big motor and trolling motor, fishing from the front and back of the boat and basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
As you can see, we will be covering a great deal of information, all of which will be extremely important for anyone who plans on fishing out of a boat at any point during their life. We are extremely lucky to have not only 2 club boats, but also 2 member boats at our disposal for this event so everyone will be able to get experience on a few different types of boats; from small jon boats to tournament bass boats.
This event is also a requirement for anyone who wishes to use the club boats in the future. If you do not attend this event you will not be allowed to run the club boats.
We do currently have limited spaces for this event so it will be first come, first serve. We will do our best to bring as many people as we possibly can.
Due to the different locations of the boats, there will be different groups. Pick ups will begin at about 8:30am, with our goal to be at the launch at 10am. Expect the event to last until 2pm, lunch will be provided.
Please post up if you'd like to go. Any questions, please ask!

Fishing depends on how many people come out. If it's small enough where we can have 2 or 3 people on each boat then yes we can.

We will be back before the game. I will post up a ride sign up tomorrow.
Although it doesn't apply for this event, I would like to stress again that if you need a ride somewhere for a club event or tournament it is up to you to contact those driving. It is not the driver's responsibility to call to see if you need a ride.

Ok sorry for the late update but we finally have everything settled for our boat day. We will have 4 total boats out at Clinton on Saturday and 3 trucks driving out there. Below are the driving arrangements, those of you getting picked up, you need to contact your driver before Saturday to tell them where you live and to find out when to be ready.
My Truck (847) 287-0153 1. Brock Phillips 2. Luke Stoner 3. Conrad Keefe
Jake Tammen's Truck (217) 898-2127 1. Tom VanSpankeren 2. Nick Hehmann 3. Dom Lopez
Justin's Truck (847) 910-1650 1. btran10 (not sure who this is?) 2. Devon Loftus 3. Nick Kohlmann 4. Andrew Childerson 5. Justin Turner 6. Houssam Daoud
Zach Weinhoff's Car 1. Jake Jagust
At this point, with this many people, we won't be able to do any fishing. I know, it sucks. But after Saturday, you all will be able to use the boats so there will be plenty more opportunities down the road.
If you want to bring one rod to do some shore fishing during down time that will be fine but I just don't want to get anyone's hopes up about fishing off the boats.
We will be serving lunch at some point during the day and we should have drinks too. If you have any questions, just ask!
