Hey Everyone,
The Illini Bass Fishing Club will be having its November General Meeting tomorrow, November 9th, at 7:00pm in Room 29 of the English Building.
We will be mainly focusing on our planned high school and fundraising tournaments that we are planning for next year. We will be creating committees on both and assigning responsibilities to anyone who wants to get involved with the organizing and planning of these tournaments. I've said it before but if you have been wanting to get more involved in our club, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
We will also be going over club election information. We will be having elections for the Executive Board at next month's meetings so we will quickly go over the new positions that will be available as well as the responsibilities of the current positions. As a reminder, you will need to have attended two club events and two general meetings in order to vote in next month's election. So if you are lacking on your general meeting's come on out tomorrow. We will be setting a day for our "Reel Cleaning Day" as well, so you will also have an opportunity to add to your club event attendance as well.
I will also be giving a presentation on basic fishing terminology and tips such as how to select a rod, reel, line and hook size. I will also try and cover some basic types of baits, when to use them and types of cover to use them around. I am hoping it will be a very informative presentation for anyone who is just getting started in fishing and wants to learn the basics. So if you have been wanting to learn more about fishing and how to get started, I strongly recommend you come out for the presentation. I'm sure the rest of our more experienced members will add even more valuable information to what I am planning to present.
Any questions, please feel free to ask me. I hope to see everyone out at the meeting tomorrow!
