Hey guys,
This is about a week and a half late and I apologize for that, I've had a busy pre-finals week and this slipped my mind. Regardless, here are the notes form the December meeting.
Tournament Schedule
The tournament schedule for the 2013 season is out and on the website. There is not a new lake on our schedule this year with the exception of Fort Madison, so we are going to get out there and kick some butt this year! FLW registration starts on the 18th and we will be saving our spots and then figuring out who exactly is fishing each tournament next semester.
For all tournaments, if you want to fish an announcement will be made at the general meeting and/or a thread will be made on the board here about who is available and wants to fish each tournament, and from there the exec board will determine who gets the spots based on points and other factors, such as tournament experience, boat access, etc. We have a lot of tournaments available so we will do our best to get everyone into at least one tournament before the year is over.
Midwest Series:
There are a number of changes being discussed for these tournaments, such as creating divisions that would cut down on the travel for all involved. There is also talk about raising the entry fee to $80 per boat to get some higher payouts to make the tournaments more worthwhile to fish. As for this years schedule, SIU will host one on Lake of Egypy or Crab Orchard this march, and ISU will host one on Clinton this April. We will be determining where we will host our tournament and the rest of the schedule in the coming weeks.
Bass University:
If you want to go to the Bass University pay attention to your emails as information about this weekend will be coming out soon. For those of you who are on the fence, the seminars run at the same time as an outdoors show at the same hotel, so if you wanted to spend some time at the outdoors show as well that is an option. A number of our sponsors will be there, so it will be a good chance to get out and get some face time with our sponsors, learn from some of the best and have some fun at the outdoors show. A number of us live in the area, so if you don't have a place to stay one of us would be more than willing to help you out! If you have anyone who would be interested in going, tell them about it and have them use "Illini Bass Fishing Cub" in the comments box, the club is getting baits for referrals.
Boats:
We are working on trying to get the ranger fixed, unless we can try to find someone who is interested in purchasing the ranger. Matt might have a lead on selling the boat so we will hopefully have more information on this coming up.
Jerseys:
We are finalizing the new jersey design for the 2013 season and an email will be sent out with ordering information and the final design. If anybody plans on fishing a tournament this spring, you will need to purchase a jersey. The jerseys represent our team as well as our sponsors so it is very important to wear them at all club events. If anybody needs more information feel free to post up on here with any questions.
At the end of the meeting we also held our board elections for next semester. We had a lot of seniors on the board who will be graduating and moving on after this semester, so there are a lot of new faces on the board. All of the new members start their jobs in January.
Club President: Cody Sullivan vs Luke Stoner: Cody won
Executive Administrator: Luke Stoner vs Jake Jagust: Luke won
Treasurer: Jake Jagust vs Andrew Childerson: Jake won
Secretary: Tom Platt ran unopposed
Sponsorship Chair: Andrew Childerson vs Conrad Keefe: Andrew won
Tournament Director: Charlie Sterrett vs Conrad Keefe: Conrad won
Social Chair:
Nick Hehmann vs Charlie Sterrett: Charlie won
This is my last post guys, I will be graduating in the Spring. Starting next month Tim will take over the posting duties. I hope everyone does well on finals and has a great holiday season. See you all next semester!
