Rob, Steve and I headed out to Lake Kakusha near Mendota, IL last week for some bass fishin'. Lake Kakusha is heavily vegetated and we managed to catch a couple fish early on on frogs. After a couple blown fuses, we were trolling down the dam when Rob caught a 5 pound 1 ounce bass on a crankbait. We fished some more and then left for Lake Mendota, which is practically next door to Kakusha, and we managed to catch easily 50 fish or more (we didn't keep count). Biggest was maybe 13". -Vandy

That fish was a blast...it jumped so many times I almost had a heart attack! Incidentally, it was 5.1 pounds on my digital scale, which comes out to 5 pounds 1.6 oz....not to be picky Rob

nah, its not really accessable from shore....however lake mendota right next to it is good fishing. Just use some smaller lures like finesse worms and you should be able to catch some numbers of bass
