It all began at 4 in the morning. Rob, Steve, and I took off for some early morning fishing on Newton's cold arm side. We dropped in and were ready to fish by 6:30. Here's some of what we managed to catch:
After catching a few more fish, we headed out around noon to make our way to East Fork. Upon arrival, we were pumped to head out after seeing a lot of the lake, especially all of the rip rap. We headed to the tiny bait shop for our permit, and we were rewarded with a sighting of a white squirrel. Then we hit the water. Lots of fish were roaming the shore line, but none were caught. Steve and I got to practice flipping docks. Rob chimed in by throwing a frog under a dock and having a fish blow up on it. That was the only fish that tried to eat anything until later on in the afternoon...
First fish on East Fork. Yes it was on a Shakey Head.
New big bass for me 6.8 lbs!!!!
Rob nailed another nice one right after at about 3.5 lbs
It was dark and we kept on fish because they just kept biting, but from the looks of Rob's face, we were all pretty tired. We had a bit of trouble with the trailer lights, so we ran the hazards the whole way home. We stopped for pizza in Olney, and then began the ride home. I couldn't even keep my eyes open. At one point in time, I woke up and we were sitting behind a parked car at a stop light. Rob thought the car was actually driving. That's when Rob decided to take a pit stop and sleep for a little while. Then we kept on going past Eastern where the kids were out in numbers roaming the streets at 2 in the morning. We managed to make it back a little before 3. It was a great day at two great lakes. Tons of fish were caught, and everyone had a fun time. That's all for now. Enjoy!!
