was out at LOTW for about an hour past week...caught 2 around 1.5lbs and one fatty that would go for at least 5lbs, probably close to 6 (scale batteries were dead)...also caught a tiny trout and lost a fish that felt bigger than the fatty (musky maybe?)...worked the entire dam with a DT4 bluegill crank and a jerkbait, not bad for LOTW i would say
also talked to a couple of the maintenance guys out there and they said that they own a gravel pit south of mahomet as well, anyone hear of this place or know anything about it?

Yes, probably referring to Shadow and Sunrise Lakes. Difficult to access by foot. We shocked and netted it once and both had 6+ pounders in it.

Kevin--
I fish the gravel pit last tuesday. the banks are really really steep which limits shore fishing. I took some of my girlfriends panfishing by the launch a got a couple gills. I have never bass fished there, but I met a little boy said his dad was whacking them. I saw a few guys far across the way got a few bass (couldnt tell the size). Also my friend's brother took his boat out there and crappie are plentiful. I suggest going to the end of the road by the launch and fishing around that area, but careful of cliffs. Oh and there's carp.
Google 'River Bend Champaign County Forest Preserve' and I'm sure you can get directions. About 20 minutes away. hope that helped
