As it seems quite a few of you are from the Chicagoland area which, post graduation, is now my home. I have been up here three weeks ...and lets just say my thumb had healed and I am getting cold sweats at night from a lack of fishing. Any of yooz guyzs got any recommendations of where to go - potentially any specifics because my sense of direction ain't so hot up here in the big city.
thanks

Where exactly are you at? I can recommend a bunch of places in the Bartlett, Elgin, Streamwood, and Schaumburg areas.

Sorry I don't know any places around there! If you're willing to drive out to the burbs for some fishing I know a lot of good spots.

I am willing to do some driving. I kinda figured I would unless I wanted to catch rats or the not so rare brown sewer trout - although Lake Michigan smallmouth would be worth it - any tips for those as well?

I'm Not sure about Lake MIchigan SMallies....BUT if you come out to the burbs most ponds hold a few bass. The best bets for smaller ponds are 7" purple power worms, shallow cranks, spinnerbaits, and if there are weeds frogs!
