Just found this. Caught on hook and line from UNDER water. She tried to take drag, but all I had to do was simply SWIM after her. About 5-5.5 pounds from Ontario. Caught from a bluegill colony. The big girl was ambushing bluegills on their nests. Couldn't let her ruin the study! ;D

No, it hit a black Power Worm. Watched the strike and everything. One of the coolest things I've seen under water.

how do you catch something under water...cant exactly cast your line out, can you?

You can, albeit with difficulty. I was snorkeling so I was just under the surface. Lifted the rod above my head out of water and made the best cast I could muster. Spinning rod helped, too.
