Well, thanks to everyone for coming out! I hope you all had a good time, and it was nice that so many people caught fish! Congrats to Weber for winning, and Ben for having the big bass of the day! And good luck next time to all those who let the big one get away! So let's get the results posted up here, any comments about the paper-t, and maybe even some pattern/ strategy discussion? I personally used a kreature bait most of the day for my one, and then a shallow crank for my other fish. I messed around with a spinnerbait briefly but wasn't feeling it (suprise suprise). I saw quite a few fish (and a couple good ones) swimming around by the dam area, so pretty much stayed there all day. I think at a future meeitng we may ( ) need to discuss the weight to length system (while may not be accurate, it still is scaled evenly all the way down). Hope to see those great turn outs the rest of the year!

I think we should just keep the weight system, A) we all use the same system B) yeah its not accurate but it still works.

Yea cause Ben beat me but under old rules I would have beaten him. He definitely deserved to finish ahead of me (what an awesome fish)

Hey Steve, I forgot that I picked up one of those yellow measuring boards that I found randomly on the shore, so I'll bring it to the next paper T or meeting.

I caught my 2 fish using a baby-bass patteren bomber crankbait (mid-diving) and I fished it parallel to shore.
My 9" fish I actually caught while my line was caught on this big branch from a tree, so I actually flung the little bass over the tree branch about 15 feet in the air and somehow it stayed hooked... that was the highlight of my day, lol.

actually the weight system is more accurate than you think. it is based on averages tho so in the spring time during spawn you naturally expect fish to weigh more since they are holding eggs. northland fishing tackle resource center did a study for over 5 years to come up with the formula of length^3/1600. they found it to be accurate over 95% of the time. length is in inches for this formula.
