Anyone, know anything about Lake Decatur? It's only an hour away from us and i haven't heard any talk of it that i can recall. Just wondering if anyone has input...

Ryan would probably know the best. Form just looking at a map, looks very shallow. Lake info says that the shallows are a boating hazard. Map also says fishing is ok.

it is a very shallow lake that was formed when the sangamon river was dammed up. when i say shallow i mean depths reaching 12 ft max. fishing is decent on certain spots but you MUST pay (based on hp of boat) to launch. anything else?

well that 12 feet is probably only around the dam, right?...what kind of fees are there to launch, like how much per hp? Sounds like it might be fun spring lake, i bet the fishing is tough when it gets hot... what kind of clarity does it have?

i'm not exactly sure about the fees because i always go with someone who has a pass that they pay for but it should be under 10 bucks. the deep spot is under a bridge which is a very popular spot. average depth for the lake is probably 8 ft but it is not heavily populated with fish. i will show you some spots if you take me with but its not a place you can go and make a killing on.
