I came home from U of I Thursday....Went out with my friends and planned on going to fish Friday morning...Well I slept until 2pm. Haha Anyway I headed out at about 230 to Deep Quarry, only to find out it was closed because they stocked trout in there yesterday. Then I headed over to Mallard Lake for a little bit, but didn't get anything there. I then decided to hit up a private pond right behind my friends house....This is when things got HOT!!! I started fishing with a jig, but it just didn't seem right.... I moved to the wind blown shore and started with a 1/2 oz. Rattle Trap in Chrome/Blue with RED hooks, on about my 10th cast I got a HUGE HIT, the fish almost ripped the rod from my hand! I fought it for a while, and got her in. It was about 5lbs!! It was about 21-22 inches. Then about 5 minutes later, in the same area I hooked up with a nice 4 pounder, and then....ANOTHER 4 pounder! And to end the day I got one more about 2lbs....IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY! PICS!
