Hey Guys,
We had our last general meeting of the year tonight, here's the information we went over.
Columbia: We have gotten into contact with our new rep and she is really eager to work with us. Big 10 guys your gear will be in on Friday, watch out on the message board for a time to pick it all up. Big 10 guys will also be getting shirts with the Illinois logo on it eventually, and Columbia is also giving us some shirts hats and stickers for raffles.
Spro: We have a new sponsorship with Spro, they are a hardbait and frog company that we used to have a sponsorship with but we lost contact with them and we just reconnected with our rep. All Big 10 guys, your lures will be in next week sometime, again check the board and we will work out a time for pick up. For anybody who wants to make a Spro order, we get about 50% retail price, so if you want to make an order contact me and I will put it in for you. The Spro deal also includes Gamakatsu hooks, the club is getting some donated from our rep as well.
Our Tournament: We have 5 teams confirmed signed up from outside of the club and we have 2 teams from within the club. If you have access to a boat and would like to fish it you are more than welcome, registration is open until the tournament starts so if you know someone who wants to fish it let them know and send them to the website, if the weather is good and the fish are on we are expecting a bigger turnout! Big thanks out to Mike Black and the ITT for giving us 10 weigh in bags and for helping us publicize, it has been a huge help. If you can be out there for the weekend it would be a huge help, we are planning on camping out close to the launch Saturday night if people are interested it will be a good time. There will be a post on the board in the next couple of days about what help we need with the tournament so keep an eye out for that.
Boats: Matt and I took the Ranger into Lake Sara Marina on Monday to get the reverse fixed and a couple other things checked out and will have it back for the tournament. We also thought we needed batteries but were able to get the ones we thought were bad to take a charge so we have 4 good working batteries for the Ranger right now.
College Bass: The dates have not yet been announced, but we are going to try to get as many boats out there as we can. Right now it sounds like Marshall is going to take the Ranger and Cody will probably be out there in his boat for the Regional. Spots for this tournament will be based off of points, so it will go down the list for availability.
Thats all I got for you guys, it was a pretty short meeting. Hope everybody has good luck on finals and a good summer. Be sure to check the message board as it is still our central communication hub as a club. There will be posts this summer about the constitution, fishing and other things so be sure to keep checking!
