Since I didn't have class until noon on Thursday, I did a little fishing at Kaufman from 9 to about 11. I fished around the lake once, catching 2 small fish. Nearing my car at 10:50, I decided to try a few more casts at some overhanging brush near the parking lot. I caught the first fish here and I figured it was the best cover nearby. After a few failed pitch attempts, I finally got my lure (green finesse jig with a "breen" berkely beast trailer) far enough under the brush. About halfway down, I felt a huge strike and set the hook. I reeled in the HAWG and measured it to be 21 inches. I didn't have a scale or a camera, but I tried my best to get both me and the fish on the camera phone. I'm assuming it was tipping 4-5 lbs (It was fat!). It was easily the biggest fish I've ever caught.
I wish I did it three days later!

Omar, I caught one there that was over 24 inches. Kaufmann is AWESOME for big bass....especially in early spring and right before ice-up. Congrats on your big fish and post a pic soon! -Captain Musk
